LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), is changing the way we think about how buildings and communities are planned, constructed, maintained and operated.
LEED is the most widely used third-party verification for green buildings, with around 1.85 million square feet being certified daily.
LEED-certified buildings are resource efficient. They use less water and energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. As an added bonus, they save money.
LEED V4 is more specialized.
There’s a LEED for every building: Building Design & Construction; Interior design and construction, Building Operations & Maintenance; Neighbourhood development; Homes.
How the System Works
Based on number of points achieved, a project can receive one of 4 LEED rating levels: 1. Certified 2. Silver 3. Gold 4. Platinum
